Committ*s Ztport:
Personnel and Finance
Ito tbt tommon Count fl of the QCtti of ioutb *tub:
The September 28, 1998 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee was called to
order by its Chairperson, Council Member John Broden at 3:37 p.m. in the Council
informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Councilmembers: Aranowski, Varner, Broden, Coleman,
Kelly Udjak and Pfeifer;Doug Carpenter, Cathy Roemer, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
The first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 68-98 which would set annual salaries
for the Mayor and the City Clerk for the 1999 calendar year.
Cathy Roemer, City Controller, made the presentation. She noted that the proposed
salaries reflect a 3.25 % increase consistent with that proposed for the non-bargaining and
the Teamster employees.
Councilmember Aranowski made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Varner that Bill
No. 68-98 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
Under miscellaneous business, Dr. Varner voiced concern regarding the TCI rate matter.
He urged that the City Attorney's office be made aware of the concern that the number of
channels available and the variety of programming are both concerns for the monthly rate
being charged. Council President Coleman noted that he would follow-up on the matter.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Councilmember John Broden, Chairperson
Personnel and Finance Committee
Attachment
•
