Commftt*t lttport: <br /> Health and Public Safety Committee <br /> 'to Os Common !Council of tit QCftg of •outfj Barb: <br /> The February 9, 1998 meeting of the Health and Public Safety Committee was called to <br /> order at 3:30 p.m.by Council Member Charlotte Pfeifer, Chairperson of the Committee. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members Aranowski, Pfeifer, Kelly, Broden, <br /> Varner, Coleman, and Hosinski; Terry Bland, Chief Luther Taylor,Assistant Chief Rick <br /> Switalski and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Pfeifer noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 14- <br /> 98 which would appropriate$9,240.00 from the Haz-Mat Fund. Fire Chief Luther Taylor <br /> made the presentation. He noted that the appropriation would permit the purchase of <br /> necessary equipment for the Haz-Mat Team. Assistant Chief Switalski provided a two- <br /> page handout(copy attached)listing all items and costs of the equipment requested. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Hosinski made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Kelly that Bill No. 14-98 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> Council Member Pfeifer noted that the next item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 15- <br /> 98 which would appropriate$ 9,172.00 from the Indiana River Rescue Fund. Fire Chief <br /> Luther Taylor made the presentation. He noted that the appropriation would permit the <br /> purchase of necessary equipment for the River Rescue Team. Assistant Chief Switalski <br /> provided a one-page handout (copy attached) listing all items and costs of the equipment <br /> requested. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Kelly made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Hosinski that Bill No. 15-98 be recommended favorably to Council.
