INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TO: Board of Public Works Theresa Heffner, Clerk FROM: Leslie Biek, P.E., Assistant City Engineer SUBJECT: Change Order #2: Signal Detection Improvements PN 120-046 DATE: 12/13/2022 This change order removes the remaining intersection that is shared with Mishawaka. Additionally, we have added three intersections to replace the intersections that have been removed in order to add Gridsmart detection. The work at Ironwood/Ewing was eliminated from this project due to the City of Mishawaka not agreeing to cost share with the improvements nor were they willing meet in order to develop a Memorandum of Understanding for the shared responsibilities of shared intersections. Additionally, the change order adds the purchase and installation of Gridsmart at MLK/Jefferson as well as the installation only of Gridsmart at LaSalle/Lafayette and Western/Lafayette. The change order also has a time extension due to the change in scope and the availability of materials. It is requested the Board of Public Works approve Change Order #2 for the Signal Detection Improvements project (PN 120-046) for an increase of $10,764.80 to the project bringing the new contract price to $113,668.80 and modifying the completion date to 2/28/2023.
