<br /> <br />INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Board of Public Works <br /> <br />FROM: Leslie Biek, P.E., Assistant City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Bid Award: South Bend Neighborhood Infrastructure Project – <br />Ford St and Walnut St Intersection <br />(PN 121-048C) <br />DATE: December 12, 2022 <br />On November 22, 2022, three (3) bids were opened and read into record by the Board of Public <br />Works for the Neighborhood Infrastructure: Ford St and Walnut St Intersection Project. Division of <br />Engineering reviewed the documents and found Milestone Contractors North to be the lowest <br />responsive and responsible bidder. Attached is the full bid tabulation. <br /> <br />The bid results are as follows: <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR BASE BID TOTAL <br />Milestone Contractors North $ 442,523.00 <br />HRP Construction $ 494,990.00 <br />Rieth-Riley Construction $ 563,318.97* <br /> <br />Rieth-Riley had a small computational error on one of the line item totals that affected their total base <br />bid amount. The correction did not change the low bidder. <br /> <br />Milestone Contractors North provided all required documentation and met the MBE and WBE goals <br />for the project. <br /> <br />The Division of Engineering recommends the award of Project No. 121-048C: Neighborhood <br />Infrastructure: Ford St and Walnut St for a total bid price of $442,523.00. <br /> <br />Thank you for your consideration of this request <br /> <br />
