Following <br /> discussion, Council Member Coleman made a motion seconded by Council Member <br /> Sniadecki that Bill No.97-50 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. <br /> The committee then reviewed Bill No. 97-51 which is a five year personal property tax <br /> abatement request for Apollo Precision Machining Inc. located at 4085 Ralph Jones Dr. <br /> Mr.Mike Beitzinger reviewed the June 17, 1997 report(Copy Attached). The report notes <br /> that the petitioner is a production machine shop which manufacturers parts. New <br /> equipment purchases will be$1,143,000. The project will create 8-10 new permanent full- <br /> time jobs. With an annual payroll of$250,000. The report concluded that the petitioner <br /> qualifies for a five year personal property tax abatement request. <br /> Mr. Bob Price spoke on behalf of the petitioner. Mr.Mike Wojtysiak provided a handout <br /> depicting website information for the petitioner. <br /> Council Member Coleman spoke in favor of the proposed abatement. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Coleman made a motion seconded by Council <br /> Member Pfeifer that Bill No. 97-51 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> In response to a question raised by Council Member Pfeifer it was noted that Apollo <br /> Precision Manufacturing Inc. has 40 women employed, 8 black women, 6 Hispanics, and <br /> three Asian individuals as of June 25, 1997. <br /> Under miscellaneous business, Council Member Varner suggested an update on the <br /> Ethanol Plant in light of recent news items.
