<br /> <br />INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />DIVISION OF ENGINEERING <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Board of Public Works <br />Theresa Heffner, Clerk <br />FROM: Sarah Barber, P.E., Senior Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Kennedy Park Improvements with DLZ Indiana, LLC <br />PN 123-008 <br />DATE: 12/13/2022 <br /> <br />Attached is a PSA with DLZ Indiana, LLC to perform the design services and application assistance for <br />the Kennedy Park Improvements project. The project will be bid and constructed in 2024 pending grant <br />reward status determined at the end of 2023. <br /> <br />The design contract consists of completion of a survey, limited geotechnical and drainage investigation, <br />conceptual planning, public outreach and preliminary engineering to 50% design for Kennedy Park to meet <br />requirements of an Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) program grant the City of South Bend <br />is pursuing. Proposed improvements to Kennedy Park under the ORLP grant include planned facility, <br />natural and aquatic improvements to improve and expand current recreation resources. <br /> <br />The 50% design and grant application assistance contract will not exceed a price of $436,500. Partial <br />funding ($250,000) for this agreement is being paid through ARP. Partial funding ($186,500) for this <br />agreement is being paid through the River East TIF and has been approved by RDC. <br /> <br />It is requested the Board of Public Works approve the PSA with DLZ Engineering for the design of <br />the Kennedy Park Improvements project for a contract price of $436,500. <br /> <br />Thank you for your consideration of this request. <br /> <br /> <br />
