Version 9/29/2021 Page - 6 Public Works Quote <br />3.The drawings are schematic in nature. <br />4.The CONTRACTOR is responsible for estimating dimensions and quantities of materials. <br />5.In the event that the Special Provisions and the Plans conflict, the Special Provisions shall govern. <br />XIX.INSTALLATION OF HYDRANTS <br />A.Prevailing Specifications: 2022 INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 202 <br />1.Excavation: 2022 INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 203 <br />2.Asphalt Paving: 2022 INDOT Standard Specifications, Sections 401 and 402 <br />B.Additions: <br />1.The facilities of South Bend Water Works exist within the project limits. The Contractor shall be <br />responsible for the installation of nine (9) hydrants as shown on the attached plan sheets. <br />2.All work required for the installation of each hydrant, including but not limited to excavation, utility <br />coordination, backfill, hydrant installation, hardware installation, and pavement restoration shall be <br />included in the line item for HYDRANT INSTALLATION. <br />3.Tap fees must paid by the Contractor and should be included in line item for HYDRANT <br />INSTALLATION. <br />4.Void areas shall be backfilled with suitable granular material, incidental to this pay item. <br />5.Disturbed areas shall be reseeded with INDOT Type “U” mix, incidental to the contract <br />6.Contractor shall coordinate with Ken Smith (574-245-6108) of Water Works for material supply. <br />7.The St. Joseph County Engineering Division must inspect and approve of work before asphalt <br />patching begins. Contractor shall coordinate with Andrew Hayes (574-235-7841) of St. Joseph <br />County Engineering Division for inspection. <br />XX.M/WBE GOALS <br />A.Pursuant to City of South Bend Ordinance No. 10761-21, Minority and Women Business Enterprise <br />Inclusion Program Plan, if Total Quote Amount is greater than $50,000 the project will be subject to <br />the M/WBE goals set in XX.C. If Total Quote amount is less than or equal to $50,000, M/WBE goals <br />will not apply. <br />B.Prevailing Specifications: City of South Bend Ordinance No. 10761-21, Minority and Women Business <br />Enterprise Inclusion Program Plan <br />C.Additions: <br />1.The M/WBE Goals for this Project are <br />a.MBE 1.2%. <br />b.WBE 4.3%. <br />2.Complete FORMS MBE-1.0 MBE Utilization Plan and WBE-1.0 WBE Utilization Plan, and submit <br />with Bid Proposal <br />3.Complete FORMS MBE-2.0 Evidence of Good Faith Efforts and WBE-2.0 Evidence of Good Faith <br />Efforts and submit with Bid Proposal. <br />4.Complete FORMS MBE-2.1 MBE Contacted and WBE-2.1 WBE Contacted and submit with Bid <br />Proposal.
