First Aid Policy <br />This policy is to insure that prompt and effective medical assistance is provided to the employees of C& E <br />Excavating, Inc. in case of workplace injury or illness, the following first aid and medical services procedure is <br />provided. <br />It is the responsibility of each manager / supervisor to assure that compliance to the First Aid & Medical <br />Services Procedure is provided. <br />This policy covers minimum performance standards applicable to all C & E Excavating's employees and locations. <br />Local practices requiring more detailed or stringent rules, or local, state or other federal requirements regarding <br />this subject can and should be added as an addendum to this procedure as applicable. <br />Purpose <br />This First Aid & Medical Services Procedure is designed to establish specific common guidelines for C & E <br />Excavating, Inc. to follow in assuring that prompt medical attention is provided to employees suffering from <br />either a work related or non -work related injury or illness. <br />C & E Excavating, Inc. facility and jobsites must ensure that readily available medical personnel and first aid <br />supplies are available to all employees to provide advice and consultation within reason, regarding matters of <br />employee occupational health and to respond in case of accident. This includes identifying and posting the <br />location of a designated medical treatment facility and/or emergency care center in a conspicuous location at <br />each fixed location or fixed jobsite. Should outside medical services be unable to respond in a reasonable <br />amount of time as defined by OSHA (3 to 4 minutes), C & E Excavating, Inc. facility and jobsites may use <br />various strategies to provide access within this time frame, such as training internal personnel who will be <br />capable of acting as voluntary first responders. <br />Scope <br />Applies to all C & E Excavating, Inc. work sites, i.e., offices, client job sites, etc., and includes visitors, vendors, <br />and subcontractors. <br />16 <br />
