Disciplinary Policy
Purpose
PROGRESSIVE DISCIPLINARY PROGRAM
The purpose of the company's disciplinary system is to provide a means of addressing misconduct in a just and
equitable manner. A proper disciplinary system also contributes to improving employee morale and the working
environment. The first disciplinary action to be taken will vary from a documented verbal warning to immediate
termination, depending on the circumstances. The normal procedure will be to progress to the next step in the
disciplinary system for subsequent violations of the Company policy procedures.
In our disciplinary programs, rules and regulations have been divided into two categories according to the type of
infraction and penalty. Category I offenses typically pertain to work performance, conduct and general Company rules.
Category II offenses are generally more severe and can result in immediate termination.
The following steps are normally followed for Category I violations (Category II violations typically start at the third
step) each of which is documented on paper and placed in the employees file:
1. Documented Verbal Warning
2. Written Warning
3. Disciplinary Probation
4. Termination
Disciplinary probation is defined as the step before termination. In addition the standard disciplinary action form, the
employee will also receive a Certified Letter from the Company advising him/her of the seriousness of the matter.
The following work rules are outlined to promote the understanding of what is considered unacceptable conduct and
to encourage consistent action in the event of violations. You are asked to cooperate in the observance of these rules
and regulations which are designed for common protection and benefit of all employees. The disciplinary action form
will remain active in your personnel file. The listed violations are to be used as examples and do not include all
violations that may occur.
CATEGORY I WORK VIOLATIONS
1. Overstaying rest or lunch breaks.
2. Failure to wear appropriate work clothing and use safety gear.
