Commftttt Ztport: <br /> Zoning and Annexation Committee <br /> go Ott Common Council of Os tttg of 0outb Oltn : <br /> The September 8, 1997 meeting of the Zoning and Annexation Committee was called to <br /> order by Council Member John Hosinski at 3:45 p.m. in the Council informal meeting <br /> room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Pfeifer, Kelly, Varner, Ujdak, <br /> Coleman, Sniadecki and Hosinski;Citizen Member Doug Carpenter, John Byori,Larry <br /> Magliozzi, Don Fozo, Kenneth P. Fedder, Bruce R. Bancroft, Robert L. Gummer, Teria <br /> Chism,Terry Bland,John Peddycord,Ann-Carol Simons and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> The first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 78-97 which is commonly known as <br /> the North Olive Road Annexation. Mr. Larry Magliozzi made the presentation. Following <br /> discussion, a motion was made and properly seconded that Bill No. 78-97 be <br /> recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. <br /> The next item on the agenda was to review Substitute Bill No. 66-97 which is a zoning <br /> request for the property located at 3320 Portage Avenue. Mr. John Byorni noted that it <br /> received a favorable recommendation from the Area Plan Commission. <br /> Mr. Kenneth Fedder,the attorney for the petitioner made the presentation. He noted that <br /> the request is being made so that his client, Amouri,Inc. may operate existing retail stores, <br /> conduct office/retail business and maintain an existing outdoor billboard. Following <br /> discussion, a motion was made and properly seconded that Substitute Bill No. 66-97 be <br /> recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Substitute Bill No. 62-97 which is a rezoning request for the <br /> property located at 130 Park Lane Street. Mr. John Byorni noted that it received a <br /> favorable recommendation from the Area Plan Commission. <br /> Mr. Bruce R. Bancroft, the attorney for Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Inc. made the <br /> presentation. He noted that the zone change is being sought to allows "PHC" <br /> professional/health care offices at the location. Following discussion,a motion was made <br /> and properly seconded that Substitute Bill No. 62-97 be recommended favorably to <br /> Council. The motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Substitute Bill No. 65-97 which is a rezoning request for the <br /> property located at the southeast intersection of Ironwood Road and Inwood Road. Mr. <br /> John Byorni noted that it received a favorable recommendation from the Area Plan <br /> Commission. <br /> Mr. Robert L. Gummer of Extendicare Health Services, Inc. made the presentation. He <br /> showed an architectural rendering and site plan of the area in question which would house a <br /> seniors living campus on 19.6 acres of property. Following discussion, a motion was <br /> made and properly seconded that Substitute Bill No. 65-97 be recommended favorably to <br /> Council. The motion passed. <br /> • <br />
