Community and Economic Development Committee <br /> t/i.& ze ?sus <br /> The May 12, 1997 meeting of the Community and Economic Development Committee was <br /> called to order by its Chairperson, Councilmember John Broden at 5:00 p.m. in the <br /> Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Kelly, Aranowski, Pfeifer, Broden, <br /> Varner, Udjak, Coleman, Hosinski, Sniadecki; Sue Hodgson, Ricardo Milton, Charles <br /> Leone,Terry Bland,Don Inks,and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Councilmember Broden noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 97- <br /> 26 which is a tax abatement request for the property located at 315 East Broadway. Mr. <br /> Don Inks then reviewed the May 1, 1997 report from the Community and Economic <br /> Development Committee which concluded that the petition for American Home Dreams, <br /> for a five(5)year real property residential tax abatement (copy <br /> h requirements O y P <br /> Inc. meets the eq <br /> attached). <br /> Following discussion, Sue Hodgson made a motion seconded by <br /> Councilmember Coleman <br /> that Bill The motion assed.No.97-26 be recommended favorably to Council. p <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 97-27 which is a request for tax abatement for the <br /> property located at 1525 West Western. Mr. Don Inks reviewed the report dated May 6, <br /> 1997,which concluded that the petition for Community Wide Federal Credit Union meets <br /> the criteria for a three (3) year real property tax abatement (copy attached). Mr. Charles <br /> Leone,the Attorney for the petitioner,then made a further presentation. Councilmember <br /> Pfeifer, the District Council Person spoke in favor of the proposed petition as did <br /> Councilmember Aranowski. <br /> Following further discussion, Councilmember Sniadecki made a motion, seconded by <br /> Councilmember Pfeifer that Bill No. 97-27 be recommended favorably to Council.
