J`e,u <br /> The April 14, 1997 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee was <br /> called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member David Varner at 4:15 p.m. in the <br /> Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Aranowski, Kelly, Ujdak, Varner, <br /> Coleman, Broden, Pfeifer, and Hosinski, Sniadecki; Larry Spradling, Mr. Roxy, Don <br /> Porter,and Kathy Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> The first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 16-97 which is an alley vacation near <br /> the vicinity of East Monroe St. Mr. Roxy the petitioner made the presentation. He stated <br /> that the annexation is necessary in light of public health and safety concerns. <br /> Mr. Larry Spradling noted that the Board of Public Works requested that a Grant of <br /> Easement be a condition of the proposed vacation. He then presented a copy of the Grant <br /> of Easement which has been recorded in the St.Joseph County's Recorders Office on April <br /> 14, 1997 and has been duly signed by James and Barbara Myers (Copy Attached). <br /> Council Member Pfeifer voiced concern with regard to governmental control and cost and <br /> that vacations are more of a community wide issue. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Aranowski made a motion seconded by Council <br /> Member Broden that Bill No. 16-97 be recommended favorably to Council.
