The joint Committee of the Zoning and Annexation Committee <br /> and the Community and Economic Development Committee <br /> December 8, 1997 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Council Member stated that she is concerned about the overall development on our <br /> gateways. She questioned the policy with regard to developing tree lawns and curbing. <br /> Mr.John Stark stated that curbs normally are done as part of the development but not prior <br /> to it. <br /> Ann Kolata noted that they are looking at guidelines for the downtown and to the end of the <br /> city limits. She would be interested in discussing improvements on Western, Sample, <br /> Michigan,and Lincoln Way. Mr. Stark noted that$250,000 was spent for South Gateway <br /> improvements. <br /> Ann Kolata noted in closing that the commission has total authority in this area and not the <br /> Common Council. She stated that no Council action would be necessary for such <br /> programs.
