(ommitttt Zsport: <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> to the Common aCountfl of the tit of i$outb to : <br /> The June 24, 1996 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee was <br /> called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member David Varner at 4:00 P.M. in the <br /> Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Varner,Zakrzewski, Coleman, Kelly, <br /> and Pfeifer, Tony Zappia, Joseph A. Catanzarite, Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski- <br /> Farrand. <br /> Council Member Varner noted that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss Bill No 31-96 <br /> which is a request to vacate certain property commonly known as Ivy Road. Council <br /> Member Varner noted that this was continued from the last Council meeting to allow Mr. <br /> Zappia to meet with officials from the University of Notre Dame and the City Engineer with <br /> regard to various traffic control concerns. <br /> Mr. Zappia then updated the Committee. He noted that the meeting took place last Friday <br /> and went very well with the City Attorney and officials from the University of Notre Dame. <br /> He noted that the area in question has had a history of accidents and that all parties were <br /> satisfied with the proposal. <br /> Council Member Coleman thanked Mr.Zappia for meeting with the officials and noted that <br /> his concerns have been satisfied. <br /> Council Member Varner noted that the Board of Public Works had originally sent this <br /> favorable mm on H also noted that in support of a local <br /> vacation request with a reco endati He e <br /> resident wa also sent to the Committee. pp <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion seconded by Council <br /> Member Pfeifer, that Bill No. 31-96 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> The next item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 31-96 which is a petition to vacate Ivy <br /> Road between South Bend Avenue and Edison Road. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Committee the meeting was adjourned <br /> at 4:10 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Council Member David Varner <br /> Chairperson,Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> • <br />
