• <br /> Committee Report <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation <br /> May 28, 1996 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Mr.Gene Oakley spoke in opposition to the proposed vacation. <br /> Council Member Coleman noted that this is one of the most dangerous intersections in the <br /> city. He is desirous of making sure that from a public safety perspective as noted by the <br /> Police Department that all engineering designs be properly satisfied. <br /> Council Member Varner noted that the Board of Public Works gave a favorable <br /> recommendation to the the proposed vacation (copy attached). Council Member Varner <br /> noted concern with regard to access to the soccer field in the area. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Washington made a motion seconded by Council <br /> Member Zakrzewski that Bill No. 31-96 be recommended favorably to Council. The <br /> motion passed. <br /> Council Member Varner then noted that Bill No. 32-96 which is a vacation request has <br /> been requested to be continued until the June 10, 1996 meeting at the request of the <br /> petitioner. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Committee the meeting was adjourned <br /> at 4:10 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Council Member David Varner <br /> Chairperson,Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> Attachments <br />
