So -II <br /> S <br /> n.AcEiS <br /> irla <br /> IV <br /> J 0 <br /> x ' + -7i <br /> /8: <br /> 1 <br /> BILL NO.22-50 <br /> SPECIAL RESOLUTION NO.4984-22 <br /> A SPECIAL RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,INDIANA CONGRATULATING JADEN IVEY,ONE OF SOUTH BEND'S <br /> NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION'S 2022 FIRST ROUND DRAFT SELECTIONS <br /> Jaden Edward Dhananjay Ivey was born in South Bend, Indiana on February 13, 2002; and <br /> G Jaden inherited his athletic genes from his grandfather, James Hunter, a former NFL defensive <br /> back, his father, Javin Hunter, a former wide receiver for the University of Notre Dame and the NFL, and Niele <br /> Ivey, a former basketball star for the University of Notre Dame and the WNBA, who coached at Xavier <br /> University, the NBA Memphis Grizzlies and is the current head coach of the Notre Dame women's basketball <br /> team; and <br /> Oirsaws Jaden's early basketball indoctrination began when he was just months old and attended <br /> countless practices and games of Niele's teams and continued at the age of two when Niele gave him a plastic <br /> basketball hoop for Christmas; and <br /> OIC.i,Jaden attended Marian High School for three years, averaged 25 points a game his junior season, <br /> scored 952 career points and committed to playing basketball.for the Purdue Boilermakers; and <br /> Off.4, anxious to refine his game and prepare for college basketball, Jaden transferred to national <br /> powerhouse LaLumiere High School in LaPorte, Indiana for his senior year; and <br /> OXf.us, LaLumiere was ranked as the eighth best high school basketball team in the country when <br /> COVID- 19 put an end to the season and Jaden's high school basketball career; and <br /> Offavai, Jaden continued his basketball career at Purdue University where, as a freshman, he started 12 <br /> games and averaged 184 points a game; and , <br /> 6X.C.ii, Jaden exploded in his sophomore season averaging 22 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per <br /> game; and <br /> oilm.i, Jaden also played for the United States at the 2021 FIBA Under-19 World Cup tournament, <br /> leading the team to the gold medal and being named to;the all-tournament team; and <br /> Gym Jaden elected to take his talents to the National Basketball Association where, on June 23, 2022, <br /> Jaden became the first player from the South Bend to be selected in the first round of the NBA draft; and <br /> 60‘,014,the South Bend Common Council, along with all other South Bend basketball fans, wish to send <br /> Jaden off to Detroit with best wishes for a long and storied career in the NBA. <br /> �aa, iNfty6few Ge a msoiv r! *do amnion C 'oaiae? ? ia44 fervid 'Altana* a9flk ag: <br /> Section I. The Common Council wishes Jaden all the best during his NBA career and all other future <br /> endeavors. <br /> Section IV. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common <br /> Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />
