ORDINANCE NO. ~ ~ y S"Q AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $77,400 FROM RIVER RESCUE FUND (NO.291) TO TRAIN PERSONNEL AND PURCHASE EQUIPMENT STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT The City of South Bend through its Fire Department administrates and operates a minimum of four (4) Indiana River Rescue Schools yearly. The instructors for this school are part of the Indiana River Rescue Response Team, which is a resource for the Indiana State Emergency Management Agency. Revenues are generated by user fees for the instruction received at these Indiana River Rescue Schools and helps defray the costs of the program. In order to operate efficiently and best protect the public, the Fire Department needs to purchase new and/or repair equipment for the Indiana River Rescue School/Response Team and insure the continuing training of its members. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and ordered set apart from and within the EMSCIF (Fund #291) for the instruction, and training officers and the purchase new equipment as follows: Account No. Description Amount 291 0904-422-21-04 Supplies $ 2,800.00 2910904-422-22-01 Fuel $ 600.00 291 0904-422-23-10 Repairs $ 6,000.00 291 0904 422-32-03 Travel $ 8,000.00 291 0904 422 39-70 Instruction $50,000.00 291 0904 422-43-05 Equipment $10,000.00 Total $ 77,400.00 SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
