toantittu *port: <br /> Community and Economic Development Committee <br /> tbe Common tot-Intl of tbt Clip of foutJ stub: <br /> The August 26, 1996 meeting of the Community and Economic Development Committee <br /> was called to order by its Chairperson,Council Member Sean Coleman at 4:05 P.M. in the <br /> Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Luecke, Kelly, Varner, Zakrzewski, <br /> Coleman, Broden, Washington, and Pfeifer; Jackie Boone, Jon Hunt, Ken Fedder, Jim <br /> Czerzniak,Ann Bruneel,Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Coleman noted that petitioners had requested continuances of two items <br /> namely Bill No. 96-80 and Bill 51-96 both to be continued to the meeting of September 9, <br /> 1996. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 63-96 which would authorize Economic <br /> Development Revenue Bonds for a property located at 4044 William Richardson Court. <br /> Mr. Ken Fedder made the presentation. He noted that this is a funding ordinance. The city <br /> would experience no liability if favorable action took place on this ordinance. He noted that <br /> the project involves Crystal Mountain,Inc.,which sells bottled water. <br /> Council Member Luecke noted that the Economic Development Commission was required <br /> to hold a hearing on this proposal and sends it to the Council with a favorable <br /> recommendation. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Luecke made a motion seconded by Council <br /> Member Zakrzewski that Bill No. 63-96 be recommended favorably to Council. The <br /> motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No.69-96 which would appropriate $38,000 within the <br /> UDAG for the Department of Community and Economic Development purposes. Mr. Jon <br /> Hunt made the presentation. He noted that the purpose of the appropriation is for pre- <br /> development costs associated with various projects in the South Bend Central Development <br /> area. Such costs would include development, architectural and engineering work, <br /> appraisals, and surveys. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion seconded by Council <br /> Member Luecke that Bill No. 69-96 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br />
