' <br />w a CITYCLEFhK, SCuT7it3END, IN <br />1865 / <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />COMMUNITY INVESTMENT <br />October 17, 2022 <br />Ms.Sharon McBride <br />President, South Bend Common Council <br />4th Floor County City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />Re: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,APPROVING <br />AND ADOPTING THE RUM VILLAGE NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN <br />Dear President McBride: <br />Scheduled on the Common Council's agenda for October 24th is a resolution,approving and adopting <br />the Rum Village Neighborhood Plan. <br />The Rum Village Neighborhood plan focus area is bounded by the railroad tracks north of Indiana <br />Avenue on the north, Main Street on the east, Ewing Avenue on the south, and Olive Street on the west. <br />This plan also covers the area stretching south to Chippewa Avenue and west to the Saint Joseph Valley <br />Parkway.The City of South Bend developed this plan through a process that engaged residents, <br />businesses, institutions,government agencies,and other neighborhood stakeholders. <br />The Rum Village Neighborhood Plan was approved and adopted by the South Bend Plan Commission on <br />September 19, 2022.A representative from the Department of Community Investment will present at <br />the Committee and full Council meetings. <br />Thanks for your consideration of this bill. <br />Sincerely, <br />a/74 4j <br />Angela Rose <br />Senior Planner
