Comsat** *.sport: <br /> Community and Economic Development Committee <br /> Zo the Common QCOUttutl of the ttty of 0outb la*t0: <br /> The January 9, 1995 meeting of the Community and Economic Development <br /> Committee was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Roland Kelly at 6:05 <br /> P.M.in the Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Puzzello, Kelly, Slavinskas, <br /> Zakrzewski, Washington, Coleman, Luecke, Duda, and Ladewski; Mike Beitzinger, John <br /> Gould, Stephen Busk,Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Kelly noted that the member of the Committee for 1995 include <br /> Council Member Washington, Council Member Puzzello, Council Member Zakrzewski, <br /> and himself. <br /> The first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 94-129 which is a 3 year Real <br /> Property Tax Abatement request for John R and Lai-Lo Gould for the property located at <br /> 2422 Viridian Drive. <br /> Mr. Beitzinger reviewed the Community and Economic Development Report dated <br /> January 3, 1995. In the report summary he noted the petition does not qualify for Real <br /> Property Tax Abatement however noted that there are three reasons set forth in paragraph 5 <br /> of the report summary which provides further information for the Council to consider this <br /> as a special exception under Section 2-84. <br /> Mr. John Gould stated that he would like the Council to consider his application in <br /> light of the difficulty in developing in this area. <br /> Council Member Puzzello made a motion, seconded by Council Member <br /> Washington that Resolution No. 94-129 be recommended favorably to Council as to be <br /> amended. The Council Attorney stated that a specific amendment would be required in <br /> order to justify it as a special exception. Council Member Luecke stated that as a district <br /> Council Member he believes that it more than qualifies as a special exception. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Resolution No. 95-1 which is a 6 year Real Property <br /> Tax Abatement request of Stephen and Susan M. Busk doing business as Busk Brothers <br /> Furniture. <br /> Mr. Mike Bietzinger reviewed the January 3, 1995 report(copy attached) from the <br /> Community and Economic Development Department finding that it qualifies for such an <br /> abatement.An artist rendering of the facility was also shown to the Committee. <br />
