Community and Economic Development <br /> Committee Report <br /> October 10, 1994 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Council Member Washington inquired as to the number of minority employees <br /> working for the Corporation. Mr. Raul noted that there have been 6 to 7 employees <br /> working over the past several years. He noted that all employees are Teamster members <br /> and require a CDL permit. <br /> Discussion then took place on the need to review and have better follow-up on this <br /> area of the petition as well as others. <br /> Following further discussion, Council Member Luecke made a motion, seconded <br /> by Council Member Ladewski, that Resolution No. 94-97 be recommended favorably to <br /> Council.The motion passed. <br /> Mike Beitzinger then noted that he will be giving the presentation on Resolution <br /> No. 94-91 on behalf of Reddi-Pac Inc. <br /> The Council attorney noted that she had prepared the"General Power of Attorney" <br /> and that a member of Reddi-Pac Inc. have formally authorized Mr.Beitzinger to act on their <br /> behalf. All Council Members as well as the City Clerk had a copy of the October 7, 1994 <br /> Power of Attorney. She further noted that she has prepared a form of a Power of Attorney <br /> for future use. She recommended that in those limited cases where the petitioner could not <br /> be present for the hearings that it must be formally executed and filed with the City Clerk, <br /> the Community and Economic Development Department as well as the petitioner retaining a <br /> copy. <br /> Council Member Luecke also noted that South Bend Heritage is currently in the <br /> process of further development on the South-East side.He noted that he will be coming to <br /> the Common Council even though South Bend Heritage does not have all of the fee title <br /> interest at this time.
