atommittuu Ztport:
Public Works and Property Vacation Committee
1r0 Uj* common Council of tljt City of gouth lB*n :
The November 14, 1994 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation
Committee was called to order at 4:20 P. M. in the Council informal meeting room by its
Chairperson, Council Member Steve Luecke.
Persons in attendance included Council Members Steve Luecke,Roland Kelly,Ann
Puzzello, Lee Slavinskas, Tom Zakrzewski, Sean Coleman, Loretta Duda, and Egune
Ladewski; John Oxian,John Leszczynski,Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 100-94 which would appropriate $210,
700.00 for the Nimtz Parkway Phase III.
Mr. John Leszczynski made the presentation. He noted that$46, 700.00 would be
reimbursed through TIF Bonds back to local roads and streets. He noted that the
$160,700.00 for the Ironwood widening project could be used for the Nimtz Parkway
Phase III. Mr. Leszczynski noted that there will be a February letting of the Ironwood
widening project and that the monies would be in place by that time. Thus a transfer from
the Ironwood widening project to Nimtz Parkway would be appropriate.
Council Member Slavinskas stated that he would support the transfer today so long
as the Ironwood widening project stays on schedule and that funds would be available next
spring. In response to a question raised by Council Member Coleman it was noted that the
Ireland to Brookmede project includes rehabilitation in sanitary sewers and lift stations. Mr.
Leszczynski noted that the City and the County have worked together and that the
Ironwood underpass will shortly be underway with that project taking approximately four
years.
In response to a question raised by Council Member Slavinskas it was noted that
the City will begin on the Ironwood project first South and North and will alternate since
much of the property in the middle of the project is yet to be bought.
Following further discussion, Council Member Ladewski made a motion, seconded
by Council Member Duda that Bill No. 100-94 be recommended favorably to Council. The
motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the Committee the meeting was
adjourned at 4:30 P.M.
Respectfully Submitted,
Council Member Steve Luecke, Chairperson
Public Works and Property Vacation Committee
Attachment
