Committee It.tport <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> go the Common QCouitui1 of the City of ifou j igent': <br /> The July 25, 1994,meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Steve Luecke at 4:15 P.M. in the <br /> Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Luecke, Washington, Kelly, <br /> Puzzello, Slavinskas, Zakrzewski, Coleman,Duda, and Ladewski ; Tom Eddington, Bill <br /> Eagan,Raymond Garrett, Bob Hennesey,Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Luecke noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill <br /> No. 69-94 which is a petition to vacate the first east-west alley south of Jefferson Blvd. <br /> Mr. Raymond Garrett of GSA in Indianapolis,IN. made the presentation.He noted <br /> that the problem that they are seeking to address are the emissions from vehicles to the <br /> building.He noted that it is causing an environmental air pollution problem.He noted that <br /> he has been contacted by the owners of the Robertsons Building who are requesting that <br /> the Bill be tabled so that discussions can take place. <br /> Mr. Bob Hennesey, the Building Engineer, was introduced by Mr. Garrett to <br /> further explain the need for the vacation. <br /> Mr. Garrett stated that in light of the request for time to discuss the issues raised by <br /> the project manager for the South Bend Central Development Area, that he would be <br /> willing to have the Bill continued until the meeting of August 8, 1994 of the Common <br /> Council. <br /> For the record, copies of the July 20, 1994 letter from the Board of Public Works <br /> submitting a favorable recommendation on the proposed vacation along with favorable <br /> recommendations from the Police Department,Fire Department,Division of Engineering, <br /> and Area Plan Commission are attached. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was <br /> adjourned at 4:22 P.M. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Steve Luecke, Chairperson <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> Attachments <br /> SL:KCF;ds <br />
