Commfttet .tport: <br /> Zoning and Annexation Committee <br /> �0 tfjt ICOmmOtt QCOttlttfl Of an eitV Of ibOUt1j NCO: <br /> The October 24, 1994 meeting of the Zoning and Annexation Committee was called <br /> to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Lee Slavinskas at 4:15 P.M. in the Council <br /> informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members:Slavinskas,Luecke,Washington, <br /> Kelly,Puzzello, Zakrzewski, Coleman,Duda and Ladewski; John Oxian,Don Porter, and <br /> Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Slavinskas noted that Bill No. 90-94 which would designate a <br /> lamp post located at the Northeast corner of Niles Ave. and Leeper Ave. as being historical <br /> was the primary topic for discussion. <br /> John Oxian, the President of the Historic Preservation Commission made the <br /> presentation. He noted that the lamp post is made of cast iron and was manufactured in <br /> 1917. Its approximate value today is $1,600.00. He believes it is historically significant <br /> and is much more rare than the concrete poles. <br /> In response to a question raised by Council Member Duda, it was noted that I&M <br /> maintains the poles however Mr. Oxian does propose to talk with the City Engineer about <br /> taking over this as a local responsibility of the City. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Washington that Bill No. 90-94 be recommended favorably to Council.
