Klosinski, P.E., Assistant City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: 122-052 Auten Road Water Main Replacement <br />Agenda Request – Award Quotation <br />DATE: August 15, 2022 <br /> <br />The Board of Public Works opened and read quotes at the July 26, 2022 Board of Public Works <br />meeting for the subject project. One quotation was received and the quotes ranked as follows: <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR BASE QUOTATION <br />UNIT PRICE <br />Selge Construction Company, Inc. (Niles, Michigan) <br /> <br />$235.00 per lineal foot <br /> <br />Assessment <br />The quotation documents submitted by Selge Construction company was the lone, responsive, <br />responsible bidder. The quotation documents included a list of MBE and WBE companies that are <br />available to participate in the project, and based on the quotations for materials, the contractor will <br />be able to meet or exceed all MBE and WBE participation goals. All critical items were submitted. <br />Based on current budget for the work, the unit price can accommodate about approximately 630 <br />lineal feet of water main installation. <br /> <br />Recommendation – Award Quotation <br />The Division of Engineering and Division of Utilities recommend award of the contract for Project <br />No. 122-052 Auten Road Water Main Replacement to the lowest, responsive responsible bidder, <br />Selge Construction Company, Inc. (Niles, Michigan) for the unit price quotation of $235.00 per <br />lineal foot for the installation of 12-inch ductile iron water main. <br /> <br />The current budget for the work is $149,900.00. Work is intended to repair and replace a section of <br />water main along Auten Road where multiple repairs have occurred in recent years prior to St. <br />Joseph County completing a new section of their trail network between Laurel Road and Kenilworth. <br /> <br />Attached, herein, is a copy of the documents for Board of Public Works signature. <br /> <br />For questions regarding the subject agenda request, contact Jacob M.
