Commttttt Ztpott:
Parks and Recreation Committee
go the tommaon ft°W tt1 of the City of South tttb:
The May 9, 1994 meeting of the Parks and Recreation Committee was called to
order by its Chairperson, Council Member Cleo Washington at 4:15 P.M. in the Council
informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Kelly, Colemen, Ladewski,
Puzzello, Ladewski, Luecke, Duda, Zakrzewski; Phil St.Clair, Ron O'Connor, Randy
Nowacki,Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member Washington noted that the purpose of the meeting was to review
Bill No. 45-94 which would approve the sale of park property. Mr. St.Clair made the
presentation. He noted that the property in question is at the Elbel Golf Corse. It formally
housed the Elbel Golf Course Golf Professional but is no longer needed for that use or
purpose. Approximately 3.8 acres is involved. The Board of Public Works would follow
through with regard to advertising consistent with State Law. It was noted in response to a
question raised by Council Member Ladewski, that bids must come in within 10% of the
appraised value. The zoning is residential. Council Member Coleman suggested that the
Board of Realtors as well as the Home Builders Association be contacted for added
competition. Council Member Luecke also suggested that signs be posted on the property.
Following discussion, Council Member Coleman made a motion, seconded by
Council Member Kelly that Bill No. 45-94 be recommended favorably to Council. The
motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the Committee the meeting was
adjourned at 4:30 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Council Member Cleo Washington, Chairperson
Parks and Recreation Committee
Attachments
KCF:ds
