July 18, 2022 Re: Rose Garden Stairway to Nowhere Meeting of June, 13, 2022 Aaron; I wanted to set out an update from our discussion at your office: After our meeting of June 13, at which we discussed this project, I met with Adam Toering at HPC on June 16 at his office, and reviewed the project with him. He indicated that he was in favor of both this stairway project, and the water feature project that I have proposed for Spring, 2023. He indicated that he would give administrative approval for both projects, without the need for full Board approval/review by HPC. He advised me to submit a written proposal and basic drawing to him, signed off by VPA, and he would approve it. On June 16th, I also met on site with David Evans, of Evans Metal and reviewed the handrail part of this project. He took all of the necessary measurements, and will provide me with a bid for the handrails for the steps, identical to what they installed on the steps in Leeper Park (West), going down into the Fountain area. Adam has indicated that this style will be acceptable to him and HPC. Mr. Evans will be submitting a bid to me. In addition, I met this morning with Brad, from VPA, to look at the electrical needs for the water feature, on site. Brad was very helpful, and will be talking to the electrician about these requirements. I am attaching the proposal to HPC on the small staircase project, and would appreciate it if you would approve it, and either return it to me; or pass it on to Adam for his approval. Sincer Larry S
