Guidebook Chapin Park Local Historic District <br />Page 42 <br />336 W Navarre Street Queen Anne: Spindlework <br />Isaiah and Melissa Unruh purchased this lot in 1888. The house was <br />built by 1889. Isaiah worked for the Studebaker Co. for many years, <br />and was elected city councilman in 1896. In 1920, the house was <br />willed to Ralph and Addie Hollowell. William Reinke, a building <br />contractor, purchased the property by 1938. <br />407 W Navarre Street <br />(see 601 Park Avenue - Horatio Chapin House) <br />413 W Navarre Street American Foursquare/Craftsman <br />Freyermuth & Maurer designed this house in 1905 for Walter <br />Fassnacht and Bessie Burroughs Fassnacht. It was completed by <br />1906. Walter was involved in the lumber and construction busi- <br />nesses and worked for the Indiana Lumber Supply Co. The <br />Fassnachts raised two sons: George and Gerard, and resided here <br />into the 1950s. <br />417 W Navarre Street Queen Anne <br />F. J. Lewis and Mary Meyer purchased the property and built the <br />house in 1891. Louis attended Northwestern Law School and <br />became a well-know attorney for several railway and stone com- <br />panies in the area. Their daughter, Edna, was raised in this house <br />and later resided here as an adult with her husband, Harry <br />McCarty, and their children: Edna, Louis and Mary Louise. <br />419 & 421 W Navarre Street Free Classic Queen Anne <br />Lillian and Clarence Jennings purchased this property from Fred <br />Keller in 1904. This duplex was built by 1908. Lillian was a circuit <br />court reporter. The first recorded residents of the property were <br />Ross Miller and William Clinton. Other residents have included: J. <br />Maynard Peterson, Carl Hibbard and Joseph Moore.
