Mr. Ron
O'Connor, the fiscal officer for the Park Department, reviewed the Bill. He noted that the
primary purpose for the transfer is to meet the payroll of December 31st, 1992. After this
transfer there will be $276,000.00 remaining in the listed accounts.
Following further discussion, Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion, seconded by
Council Member Ladewski, that Bill No. 116-92 be recommended favorably to Council.
The motion passed.
The next item to be reviewed was Bill No. 117-92 which is an appropriation ordinance.
Mr. Jeff Rinard reviewed the Bill. He noted that this is specifically for the Century Center.
He noted that the attachments are identical to those previously submitted to the Common
Council except that the administrative cost will be phased in over a three year period. The
amount is set forth on page 6 in the amount of$16,317.00. He noted that the personnel
services are set up in conformity with the non-bargaining ordinance. He noted that Liz
Rowell and Brian Hedman reviewed the various job descriptions and would only pay
higher amounts if there is a change of status.
Mr. Brian Hedman thanked the Council for the additional time to talk with the Board of
Managers. In response to a question raised by Council Member Ladewski, it was noted
that the sales manager works approximately thirty-two hours per week, and that the hostess
works less than thirty-two hours. It was also noted that the parking lot attendant is paid on
an hourly basis at the rate of$6.40 per hour.
Council Member Coleman, the Council appointment to the Century Center Board of
Managers, suggested that a "Cook's Tour" of the Century Center be arranged so that the
Council can view the many improvements made. Mr. Hedman also encouraged such a
tour, and also noted that holiday bookings were very good for the Century Center.
Following further discussion Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion, seconded by
Council Member Ladewski, that Bill No. 117-92 be recommended favorably to Council.
The motion passed.
