OIrnMntttrrf 3Rrport <br /> ZONING AND VACATION COMM I EE <br /> ZJo tip Qlnmmaa elounrtl of tltt OJttg of Omni *nit: <br /> The January 13, 1992 of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was called to order by its <br /> Chairperson Council Member Lee Slavinskas at 3:30 p.m.in the Council Informal Meeting <br /> Room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Ladewski, Washington, Luecke, <br /> Puzzello, Duda, Coleman, Zakrzewski, and Slavinskas; Ken Fedder, John Byorni, Dave <br /> Norris, Mike Dansch, Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> The first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 71-91 which would annex and bring <br /> within the City Limits certain land located in Penn Township of St. Joseph County. Mr. <br /> Michael Dansch of Pierce & Associates gave the presentation. He showed a preliminary <br /> site development plan (copy attached) to the Committee. It was noted that 5.3 acres of the <br /> "25 acre tract would be developed. It was noted by Mr. Byorni that the Area Plan Staff had <br /> no objection to the proposed annexation. It was also noted that the property would be <br /> annexed into the City as "A "residential" A"height and area. <br /> Mr. Dave Norris briefly reviewed the Fiscal Plan. He noted that there wold be no <br /> substantial impact by the annexation. He also noted that Station Ten provide the primary <br /> fire services with Station Eight as a backup. <br /> Council Member Slavinskas, the District Councilman for the area, noted that he had <br /> received several calls and letters with regard to this proposed Bill. He noted that much of <br /> the communication that he received had misinformation, since many individuals thought <br /> that this would include a rezoning as a part of the Bill this evening. <br /> Mr. Dansch noted that a separate ordinance would include the petitioners request for a "B" <br /> zoning later, which would probably be heard in March of this year. He also noted that the <br /> pole barn on the property probably would probably be eliminated. <br /> Following further discussion, Council Member Coleman made a motion, seconded by <br /> Puzzello, that Bill No. 71-91 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. <br /> Council Member Luecke noted that Bill No. 79-91 addressing the proposed. Alley Vacation <br /> for Portage, Leland, and Forest should be continued for two weeks. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Committee the meeting was adjourned <br /> at 3:45 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Lee Slavinskas, Chairperson <br /> Zoning and Vacation Committee <br />
