Oinmmtttnr gond
UBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
Mu tl a Olmmnnn Qlounrtl of ter Qlttn of email lirnd:
The January 27, 1992 meeting of the Public Safety Committee was called to order by its
Chairperson, Council Member Ladewski at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting
Room.
Persons in attendance included Zakrzewski, Duda, Luecke, Washington, Kelly, Puzzello,
Slavinskas, and Ladewski; Bernie J. Dobski,Don Porter and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
The purpose of the meeting was to review Bill No. 9-92 which would amend Section 9-2
of the South Bend Municipal Code entitled "Fire Prevention Ordinance". Assistant Chief
Dobski noted that the Bill would include by reference the 1990 edition of the Fire
Prevention Regulations as opposed to the 1985 edition which has been replaced.
The Council Attorney noted that the Bill would require that copies of the Code be kept on
file for public inspection in the "Department of Code Enforcement". It was suggested that
the Code instead be kept on file for public inspection in the "office of the Building
Commissioner". Assistant Chief Dobski agreed with the amendment.
Following further discussion, Council member Duda made a motion, seconded by Council
Member Washington, that amended Bill No.9-92 be recommended favorably to Council.
The motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the Committee the meeting was adjourned
at 4:37 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Council member Eugene Ladewski, Chairperson
Public Safety Committee
