Tatittnittrr annul _ <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE <br /> Zo the 1Iouunou Giountil of tilt ditty of South Snit: <br /> The May 11, 1992 meeting of the Public Safety Committee was called to order by its <br /> chairperson Council Member Gene Ladewski at 4:30 p.m.in the Council informal meeting <br /> room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Luecke, Coleman, Puzzello, <br /> Washington, Kelly, Slavinskas, Zakrzewski, Duda, Ladewski; Assistant Chief Rick <br /> Switalski,Assistant Chief Bernie Dobski,Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 27-92 which would appropriate $25,000.00 from <br /> the EMS fund for the purchase of equipment. The fire equipment included one life pack, <br /> 10 defibrillator for $9,800.00, 3 Pulse oximeters at $1,000.00 each, 20 portable suction <br /> units at$75.00 each, 50 replacement cartridges at$10.00 each ropes and various hardware <br /> equipment for $3,000.00, 25 box springs and mattresses for a total of$5,000.00, and 2 <br /> portable radios for a total of$2,200.00. <br /> Bill No. 28-92 which would appropriate Haz-mat fund for the purchase of equipment was <br /> also reviewed. This appropriation would pay for emergency lights, kiddie pools, nomex <br /> suits,portable radios,an intercom system and books. <br /> Upon the request of Council Member Roland Kelly, the pulse oximeter was demonstrated <br /> by Assistant Chief Switalski. <br /> Following favorable discussion,-Roland Kelly made a motion seconded by Loretta Duda <br /> that Bill Numbers 27-92 and 28-92 be recommended favorably to Council.
