fdnmmlflre 3rrnrt <br /> ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE <br /> On tilt &tnmown Qlounril of air Q lty of 604 Stub: <br /> The May 26, 1992 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was called to order by <br /> its Chairperson Council Member Lee Slavinskas at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Informal <br /> meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Kelly, Coleman, Luecke, Slavinskas, <br /> Puzzello, Washington, and Duda; Tom Brademas, Fred Holycross, John Oxian, Patrick <br /> Brown, John Byorni, Jeff Gibney,Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Slavinskas noted that the Council Attorney has received word from the <br /> Attorney for the Petitioner for Bill No. 26-92 requesting a continuance until the meeting of <br /> -June 8, 1992. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 25-92 which is a zoning ordinance for the property <br /> located at 18106 Ireland Road. <br /> Mr. Patrick Brown made the presentation. It was noted that this area was previously re- <br /> zoned however due to a major site plan change that a re-zoning was necessary. The site <br /> would change from having six (6) mall shops to one store that being Franks Nursery. On <br /> the East side there would be a Subway Sandwich shop, a video rental, and one tenant yet to <br /> be announced. Mr. Byroni noted that the Area Plan Commission gave a favorable <br /> recommendation at its meeting of May 19, 1992. <br /> Following further discussion Council Member Coleman made a motion seconded by <br /> Council Member Washington that Bill No. 25-92 be recommended favorably to Council. <br /> The motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 35-92 which is a request to designate the property <br /> located at 635 South Main as an Historic Landmark. Mr. John Oxion and Mr. Fred <br /> Holycross made the presentation. It was noted that the building is within the Studebaker <br /> Corridor and is ranked as a"5-12". <br /> In response to a question raised by Council President Luecke, it was noted that the <br /> Superintendent of Schools was aware of the process and would cooperate. It was also <br /> noted that both the Historic Preservation Commission and the Area Plan Commission <br /> recommended the Bill favorably. <br /> Following further discussion Council Member Coleman made a motion seconded by <br /> Council Member Washington that Bill No. 35-92 be recommended favorably to Council. <br /> The motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 37-92 which would vacate a alley east of North <br /> Walnut running north from West Washington. Mr. Jeff Gibney gave the presentation. He <br /> showed a diagram of the proposed project for the area. <br /> Following further discussion Council Member Coleman made a motion seconded by <br /> Council Member Washington that Bill No. 37-92 be recommended favorably to Council. <br /> The motion passed. <br />
