The total reduction of
appropriations on closed projects is $184,217.00. He noted
that at a previous meeting detailed listings of all proposed
paving, slurry, and various other Public Works Projects were
discussed. In response to a question raised by Council
Member Zakrzewski it was noted that the concrete program
would begin earlier than last year. In response to a
question raised by Council Member Luecke it was noted that
the railroad is responsible for maintaining railroad
crossings.
Mr. Leszccynski noted that more money is needed for
preventative maintenance. The formula for local road and
street monies is currently based on road miles therefore a
county two lane road is treated the same as a city four lane
road. It was attempted to get "lane miles" but it did not
pass.
Council Member Slavinskas questioned the proposed $50, 000.00
for Ironwood appraisals. It was noted that the design was
not complete and that Cole Associates is the design
engineer. Questions of side walks, right of ways, trees and
the quality of life and the local environment will all be
looked at. It was suggested that a separate meeting be held
to discuss these items.
In response to a question raised by Council Member Ladewski
it was noted that curb repair comes out of the Street
Department Budget.
Following further discussion Council President Niezgodski
made a motion seconded by Council Member Duda that Bill No.
