ltnmmlttrt &port <br /> PERSONNEL AND FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> btu the Cm= Qloutuil of the Otttg of Onut1 Beni: <br /> The December 10, 1990 meeting of the Personnel and Finance <br /> Committee meeting was called to order by it's Chairperson, <br /> Council Member Ann Puzzello at 4:30 p.m. in the Council <br /> Informal Meeting Room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members Luecke, <br /> Coleman, Duda, Niezgodski, Slavinskas, Soderberg, Voorde, <br /> and Puzzello; George Herendeen, Don Porter, and Kathleen <br /> Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Puzzello noted that the purpose of the <br /> meeting was to discuss Bill No. 109-90 which would address <br /> the amounts of benefits to be received by surviving spouses <br /> of deceased police officers and firefighters. <br /> Ann Puzzello then reviewed the Bill. She noted that this was <br /> the second step in the Council's committment to the <br /> surviving spouses to increase their pension benefits. She <br /> noted that last year the benefit level was raised to 35% and <br /> that this year the benefit level would be raised to 40%, <br /> effective January 1, 1991. <br /> Council Member Slavinskas noted that the budget for 1991 <br /> included funding at the 40% level. <br /> Following favorable discussion, Council Member Coleman made <br /> a motion seconded by Council Member Voorde that Bill No. <br /> 109-90 be recommended favorable to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> There being no further business to come before the <br /> Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 4: 35 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Council Member Ann Puzzello, Chairperson <br /> Personnel and Finance Committee <br />
