The City reserves the right to run performance tests once a month. <br />3. Any product which, in the City's opinion, does not meet the specified <br />performance requirements or fails to comply with the specifications will <br />be disqualified. <br />D. COVERAGE <br />These specifications cover pyrophosphate compounds used to stabilize or <br />sequester soluble iron and manganese in potable water. <br />E. PHYSICAL FORM <br />Product shall be a granular form. Powdered material will not be accepted. <br />F. PHYSICAL STANDARDS <br />Phosphate blend shall comply with the following physical requirements: <br />1. Color: White <br />2. Solubility: Completely miscible in water <br />3. Percent Phosphate as PO4 Minimum of 93% <br />4. Physical Form: Granular <br />G. CHEMICAL STANDARDS <br />i. Phosphate blend shall contain only NSP approved phosphorous ingredients. <br />ii. No amines or other chelating agents shall be used. <br />iii. Blended phosphate product formulation shall be only sodium salts of <br />phosphate compounds. <br />iv. No potassium salts shall be used. <br />V. Impurities in pyrophosphate products shall not exceed the following <br />concentrations: <br />Arsenic as AS <br />0.001 mg/1 <br />Copper as CU <br />0.2 mg/1 <br />Heavy Metals total as Pb <br />0.001 mg/1 <br />Iron FE <br />0.1 m /I <br />Manganese as MN <br /><.05 mg/1 <br />Organics as C <br />None <br />Silica as SIO2 <br />1.0 <br />Zinc as ZN <br />0.01 mg/1 <br />vi. In addition to the above standards, pyrophosphate products shall contain no <br />substance, for which the Indiana Pollution Control Board has established a <br />
