8. Vendor personnel shall assist South Bend personnel in the visual inspection of <br />each cylinder or ton container for: <br />a) External damage or defect <br />b) Proper installation ofvalve protection housing or caps <br />c) Visual inspection of valves and fusible plugs <br />i) All old wire from previous hung tags are to be removed prior to delivery <br />ii) All fusible plugs should be defect free (no pits or holes) <br />d.) Determination of markings of retest and recertification <br />Motor vehicles used to ship ton containers shall be properly equipped with lift <br />equipment suitable for handling containers to any point where the container is <br />to be loaded upon or unloaded from the vehicle for water works deliveries. <br />Wastewater facility has overhead crane for offloading ton containers. <br />Cylinders containing chlorine shall be securely lashed in an upright position, <br />loaded into racks securely attached to the motor vehicle, or packed in boxes or <br />crates of such dimensions as to prevent their overturning. <br />
