White, Henry Davis Jr. <br /> Others Present: Dawn Jones, Victoria Trujillo, Bob Palmer <br /> Presenters: None <br /> Agenda: Discussion of Community Police Review Office Director <br /> Hiring Process <br /> Committee Chair Troy Warner called to order the Community Relations Committee meeting <br /> at 6:00 p.m. <br /> Full audio dialogue of the meeting is available upon request from the City Clerk's Office. <br /> Chair Troy Warner read the language in the ordinance on the appointment of a Director for the <br /> Community Police Review Office (CPRO), which involves the review of applications by <br /> Council in an executive session and submission of no more than three (3) names passed by the <br /> majority. He read the white paper recommendations made in 2021. <br /> Chair Troy Warner outlined the hiring process of department heads by HR. He recommended a <br /> similar model for appointment of the Director of the CPRO, which would include: a phone <br /> interview with HR, group interviews with Council, public release of info on finalists, a public <br /> meeting, and passage of a resolution with no more than three (3) candidates to the Mayor. <br /> Chair Troy Warner stated that all documentation on candidates should be retained by HR and the <br /> Council attorney, and there shall be no contact between any applicants and the Mayor, <br /> administrative staff, or Council to discuss the position. <br /> Committeemember Lori K. Hamann asked if there would be a different set of questions posed to <br /> candidates at each step of the process. <br /> Chair Troy Warner responded affirmatively; however, there may be some overlap. <br /> Committeemember Lori K.
