fin tWnn Eeport <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE <br /> 0In the Toutu un Ulounrll of tie Qltig of*radii Snit <br /> The February 12, 1990 meeting of the Public Safety Committee <br /> was called to order at 4:40 p.m. in the Council informal <br /> meeting room by its Vice Chair Person Council Member Ann <br /> Puzzello. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Duda, <br /> Niezgodski, Puzzello, Luecke, Voorde, Zakrzewski, Coleman, <br /> and Slavinskas; John Leszczynski, Katie Humphreys, Luther <br /> Taylor, Rick Switalski, Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski- <br /> Farrand. <br /> It was noted that the Clerk's Office has received a <br /> telephone call that the Chair Person Council Member William <br /> Soderberg was taken to the hospital and was being admitted <br /> for an illness. <br /> Council Member Puzzello noted that the purpose of the <br /> meeting was to discuss Bill No. 1-90 which would appropriate <br /> the sum of $254, 385. 00 from the Emergency Medical Services <br /> Capital Improvement Fund to defray various fire department <br /> expenses. Chief Luther Taylor stated that the City has <br /> decided to combine various lease purchase payments and that <br /> the proposed appropriate broke down as follows: <br /> Security Pacific (Rescue Unit) $ 36,812 . 26 <br /> Security Pacific (Quint Midi) <br /> semi annual pymt. 148, 145. 45 <br /> Ford Motor Credit (ambulance) 27,284 . 78 <br /> MNC Leasing (new ambulance through <br /> McCoy-Miller) 21,835.92 <br /> Networking Computer 10, 300. 00 <br /> Heart Monitor (defibulator) 10, 000. 00 <br /> Total Appropriation: $254, 385. 00 <br /> Chief Taylor credited Council Member Niezgodski for his <br /> recommendation that all heart monitors be consistent thus <br /> the third heart monitor was being recommended. <br /> Following favorable discussion, Council Member Slavinskas <br /> made a motion seconded by Council Member Duda that Bill No. <br /> 1-90 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> Katie Humphreys noted that only one payment on the Quint- <br /> Midi was being recommended at this time so that the City <br /> could monitor the balance in the Capital Improvement Fund. <br /> She noted that there are a number of other needs which are <br /> currently being weighed by the Department. <br />
