ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA, AMENDING THE MAXIMUM SALARY AND WAGES OF CERTAIN <br /> NON-BARGAINING EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br /> FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2013 <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The Common Council approved Ordinance No 10199-12 establishing the 2013 maximum <br /> salary and wages for all non-bargaining employees of the City of South Bend, Indiana on <br /> October 29, 2012. Upon later review of the salary ordinance schedule it was determined <br /> that a numerical transposition had been made in the 2012 salary ordinance for the <br /> Financial Specialist IV position approved in 2011. The ordinance showed a maximum <br /> salary level of$40,258 rather than $42,058 as had been established and approved by the <br /> Common Council in 2010. This transposition was not corrected for the 2013 salary. The <br /> purpose of this ordinance is to correct this error. <br /> The overall guidelines used in this Ordinance are consistent with the overall negotiating <br /> criteria used for all non-bargaining employees of a 2.0% increase to the maximum salary. <br /> This Ordinance is in the best interest of the City and the affected non-bargaining <br /> employees. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br /> SECTION 1: Maximum Compensation <br /> (a) The maximum amounts to be paid as annual compensation for a <br /> Financial Specialist IV for the City of South Bend, Indiana for the <br /> Calendar Year 2013 is $43,757. The bi-weekly amount is $1,683. <br />
