Qiummti#rr laeprnrt <br /> HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> UIu the &lnmown &I©uu ll of tip fits of#4.nudi1 Writ/ <br /> The May 8, 1989 meeting of the Human Resources and Economic <br /> Development Committee was called to order by its Chair <br /> Person Council Member Steve Luecke at 5: 05 p.m. in the <br /> Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Luecke, <br /> Zakrzewski, Niezgodski, Soderberg, Puzzello, Slavinskas, <br /> Voorde, and Coleman; Margot Doyle (citizen member) , James <br /> Knepp, Attorney, Robert Robison, Ann Kolata, Howard Bessire, <br /> James Wensits, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Steve Luecke noted that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> review Resolution No. 89-45 which would designate 3515 <br /> Boland Drive to be an economic revitilization area for <br /> purposes of a three year real property tax abatement. <br /> Ann Kolata then reviewed the report from the Department of <br /> Economic Development dated March 1, 1989 (copy attached) . <br /> Mr. James Knepp, the- Attorney' for the Petitioner, and Mr. <br /> Howard Bessire from the Industrial Foundation both spoke in <br /> favor of the Resolution. <br /> Mr. Robert Robison, the <br /> Petitioner, noted that originally they had built their <br /> building in 1977 and added on a new addition in 1984. Both <br /> times they sought and received property tax abatement. He <br /> noted that currently they have a severe shortage of space. <br /> It was noted that they are not seeking personal property tax <br /> abatement currently and he outlined the competitive nature <br /> of the type of business conducted by American Tool & Die, <br /> Inc. <br /> Following further discussion Council Member Zakrzewski made <br /> a motion seconded by Council Member Coleman that Resolution <br /> No. 89-45 be recommended favorably to Council.
