elevnintttre agport
ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE - -
o tip emu= Council of tit Gift} of bout; Thant:
The February 13, 1989 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation
Committee was called to order by its Chair Person Council
Member Lee Slavinskas at 4:05 p.m. in the Council informal .
meeting room. • •
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Luecke,
Niezgodski, Puzzello, Soderberg, Slavinskas, Zakrzewski,
Voorde, Coleman, and Duda; Bruce Huntington, members of the
news media, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member Slavinskas noted that the first item on the
agenda was to review Bill No. 125-88 which would amend the
zoning ordinance for property located at 1112, 1118 and 1122
South Ironwood /Drive.
• Mr. Bruce Huntington noted that the purpose of the rezoning
is to allow a structure to be built which would house five
physicians. He noted that currently there is a petition
pending before the Board of Zoning Appeals with regard to
parking and set back requirements relative to Pleasant
Street. The structure would be a two-story structure. It
was noted that the Area Plan Commission gave a favorable
recommendation and there were no remonstrators at that
meeting. It was further noted that a small house was
located on one of the parcels and in light of the cost being
prohibitive to move the structure the house would be torn
down.
Council Member Bill Soderberg, the district Council Member,
voiced favorable support of the proposed rezoning.
Following further comments, Council Member Soderberg
seconded by Council Member Coleman that Bill No. 125-88 be
recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
Council Member Slavinskas noted that Bill No. 140-87 which
is a revision of Chapter 21 would have second and third
readings on the Bill at the Council meeting of February
27th. He stated that he would like to have a separate
committee meeting on the Bill which is tenatively scheduled
for Friday, February 24th at 3 : 30 p.m.
i
