Human Resources and Economic <br /> J <br />) • Development Committee <br /> Minutes/ September 14 , 1987 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Councilman Braboy noted that with the increasing development <br /> of the downtown and tax abatement proposals that the council <br /> must play an increasing role in making sure that they are in touch <br /> with the desires of the developers as well as the long term <br /> effects of the tax impact. <br /> Mr. Hunt then reviewed Resolution No. 87-73 which would <br /> approve recommendations concerning the need for proper location <br /> of parking facilities within the downtown area. He indicated that <br /> the overall report was a part of the Macog study which showed the <br /> need for additional parking in the downtown area. He also indicated <br /> that he had additional copies of the "South Bend-Downtown Develop- <br /> ment plan 1987-2000, phase 1" for all council members. <br /> Therebeing no further business to come before the committee, <br /> the meeting was adjourned at 5 :40 p .m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Councilman Eugenia Braboy, Chairman <br />
