OIinuntatt Evart <br /> • <br /> HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> iIn Ibe Common Commit of ti{r 'Ettg of Soutii !intb: <br /> The June 22 , 1987 meeting of the Human Resources and <br /> Economic Development Committee was called to order at 5 :05 p.m. <br /> in the Council informal meeting room. <br /> ` Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Taylor, Barcome, <br /> Zakrzewski , Voorde, Puzzello, Serge and Braboy ; Don Inks and <br /> Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand . <br /> Councilman Braboy noted that the purpose of the meeting was <br /> to review Bill No. 54-87 which would appropriate $287,500.00 from <br /> the Economic Development State Grant Fund to be administered by <br /> the Department of Economic Development . <br /> Mr. Don Inks of the Department of Economic Development then <br /> briefly reviewed the bill. He noted that grants would be awarded <br /> by the State of Indiana for Sibley Machine & Foundry Corp. and <br /> for Precision Tool "& Die. Between these two (2) projects , one <br /> hundred fifty ( 150) new jobs will be created with a total <br /> investment in the community of $4. 7 million. <br /> Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman Serge made <br /> a motion , seconded by Councilman Puzzello , that Bill No. 54-87 <br /> receive a favorable recommendation. The motion passed . <br /> Under miscellaneous business, the Council Attorney briefly <br /> updated. the Committee indicating that the new State law amending <br /> tax abatement legislation will take effect July 1 , 1987.
