Beck at <br /> 4:20pm, Thursday, November 19, 1987 in the Council's <br /> informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilmen and Councilwomen: <br /> Voorde, Barcome, Braboy, Serge, Puzzello, Beck, and <br /> Zakrzewski; Bob Kruszynski, John Leszczynski, Michael Vance, <br /> Steve White, Don Niezgodski, Carl Kopec, John Leisenring, <br /> Chief Deputy Controller, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> SOLID WASTE FUND, BUR. OF SOLID WASTE, Pg. 1.A.001-2 <br /> Requested 1988 Budget: $1,295, 133 = 37.8% increase <br /> Mr. John Leszczynski then reviewed each of the budgets. He <br /> noted that the solid waste fund is proposed at $1,295, 133 <br /> which represents a 37.8% increase for 1988. He noted that <br /> the landfill charges are up 56% thereby causing a request of <br /> $225,000 for this line item. He also noted that other <br /> contractuals is up from $20, 600 to $273,270 which represents <br /> a 1226.5% increase over the current calendar year. He <br /> further indicated that in light of the meeting with the <br /> Council regarding the large item pick ups by the Department <br /> that there would be further clarification on the brochure. <br /> He further noted that currently the City is being charged <br /> $2.95 per cubic yard to dump and it may go up $.75 per cubic <br /> yard. Currently the trucks used by the City can house 20 <br /> cubic yards each. He further indicated that there is less <br /> manpower being used with the packers. <br /> It was noted that bill no. 129-87 which was given first <br /> reading would raise the trash pick up rates to $7 for <br /> residential and $5 for senior citizen with the increase <br /> netting an additional $390,000 in revenue. <br /> SOLID WASTE DEPRECIATION, BUREAU OF SOLID WASTE, Pg. 2 .A. 002 <br /> Requested 1988 Budget $150,000 - 50% increase <br /> Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Solid Waste Depreciation <br /> Budget was being requested at a substantial increase so that <br /> eight garbage trucks and one packer could be paid for. <br /> WATER WORKS GENERAL, WATER WORKS, Pg. 3.A.001 - 004 <br /> Requested 1988 Budget $5, 127, 111 - 3% increase <br /> Mr. Leszczynski noted that the overall Water Works General <br /> Fund represents no basic changes. He further noted that the <br /> Teamsters working within this Department will receive only <br /> an hourly increase and no bonus. <br />
