OIuuutcingp Road <br /> oq ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE <br /> alo t1t Glom= Cto*uw l of tip CUB of eaud1 stub <br /> The November 23, 1987 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation <br /> Committee was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman <br /> John Voorde, at 4:10pm in the Council's informal meeting <br /> room. -- <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilmen and Councilwoman: <br /> Taylor, Braboy, Puzzello, Serge, Voorde, Barcome, and <br /> Paszek; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Papczyski, Mr. and Mrs. George <br /> Klipch, Dick Maginot, Jim Wensits, and Kathleen Cekanski- <br /> Farrand. <br /> Councilman Voorde noted that two of the items on the agenda <br /> have requested a continuance, namely, bill no. 109-87 which <br /> is a bill to vacate an alley near Chapin Place. Councilman <br /> Serge made a motion seconded by Councilman Taylor to accept. <br /> the substitute version of bill no. 109-87 and to continue it <br /> until December 7, 1987. The motion passed. <br /> Councilman Voorde also noted that bill no. 115-87 dealing <br /> with an alley vacation near Dinan Court has asked for an <br /> indefinite continuance. Upon motion by Councilman Serge <br /> seconded by Councilman Taylor bill no. 115-87 was <br /> recommended to be continued indefinitely. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> Councilman Voorde then brought to the Committee's attention <br /> bill no. 98-87. Councilman Voorde noted that there is a <br /> substitute version of the bill on file with the City Clerk. <br /> Councilwoman Puzzello made a motion seconded by Councilman <br /> Serge to continue the substitute version. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> Councilman Barcome, the sponsor of the bill, noted that the <br /> Area Plan Commission at its meeting of November 17, 1987 <br /> gave a favorable recommendation to the proposed ordinance. <br /> The area in question is 243 feet by 400 feet and would allow <br /> Jack Hickey to build 34 new units. The area in question is <br /> near Aberdeen and Ironwood. <br /> Upon further discussion, Councilman Taylor made a motion <br /> seconded by Councilman Serge to recommend substitute bill <br /> no. 98-87 favorably to the Council. The motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed bill no. 110-87 which is a <br /> zoning ordinance for the property located at the <br /> intersection of Portage and Cleveland Roads. <br /> Mr. and Mrs. Frank Papczyski of 52423 Portage Road stated <br /> that the residents' rights who live in the area should be <br /> carefully considered.
