Qtin n>nttttr Spurt
ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE
Wu tip Qtouun n Qiouuctt of tip (Mg of*until Nadu
The July 30 , 1987 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation
Committee was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman John
Voorde , at 4 : 15 p .m. in the Council informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Beck, Puzzello,
Barcome, Braboy, Serge and Voorde; Mike Dobson, Anna- Pappas, and
Margaret Fosmoe of the South Bend Tribune.
Councilman Voorde noted that the purpose of the meeting was
to review Bill No. 73-87 which is a bill to vacate a portion of
Scott Street from Lincolnway to Marian Street for a distance of
approximately one hundred seven (107) feet. Mr. Mike W. Dobson,
the petitioner , stated that the area in question is currently
being used as a cut through.
Anna Pappas of 512 Madison voiced concern with regard to
parking and especially parking with regard to those who visit the
Plasma Center. Councilman Beck questioned whether the petitioner
wanted the vacation to upgrade his own property which is
currently being used as a Phillips 66 station legally known as
B&R Oil , Inc .
Councilman Voorde noted that because the Board of Public
Works has not yet taken formal action on the vacation petition,
the Committee could not take any action at this time.
Following further discussion, the meeting was adjourned at
4 : 30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted ,
Councilman John Voorde, Chairman
•
•
met ..... .14/1M. rI.1.ISMIM6 co.
