(IIummtiirr Report
ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE
Chi ittt Gammon fount l of tilt (Mg of booth iirnb:
The June 22 , 1987 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation
Committee was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman John
Voorde, at 4:50 p.m. in the Council informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Taylor, Barcome,
Zakrzewski, Voorde, Puzzello, Serge and Braboy; Mrs. Shaffer and
Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand .
Councilman Voorde noted that the purpose of the meeting was
to review Bill No. 53-87 which would vacate the first north-south
alley west of Ironwood Drive.
Councilman Voorde noted that the Board of Public Works gave
a favorable recommendation to the proposed vacation .
The petitioner, Mrs. Shaffer , then briefly described her
reasons for seeking the vacation. She indicated that Indiana &
Michigan Electric Company had agreed to release approximately
four (4) feet of their easement of the alley to her to enable her
to build a carport in that area. She further indicated that
there were no remonstrators at the Board of Public Works meeting
and that she had not received any negative comments with regard
to her request.
Following discussion, Councilman Puzzello made a motion,
seconded by Councilman Taylor, that Bill No. 53-87 go to Council
favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the
Committee , the meeting was adjourned at 5 : 05 p.m.
Respectfully submitted ,
Councilman John Voorde, Chairman
