emitintfln ittpurt <br /> t Olmunwu atonal of Up Bits of e AND VACATION COMMITTEE <br /> Wu <br /> The March 9 , 1987 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee <br /> was called to order at 4 : 50 p .m. in the Council informal meeting <br /> room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilmen: Zakrzewski, Braboy, <br /> Serge , Beck, Puzzello, Barcome , Voorde , and Paszek; James Kronck, <br /> Mr . Tim Hartzer , Susan Hanson, John Ford, members of the news <br /> media, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Councilman Voorde noted that the first item for the Committee to <br /> review was Bill No . 4-87 which would amend the zoning for the <br /> property located at 3501 East Jefferson Blvd. <br /> Susan Hanson , a local attorney, then explained the request for <br /> that rezoning . She noted that the location has housed "Your <br /> Worship Hour , Inc. " for the past twenty-one (21) years. Holy <br /> Cross Health System Corporation located at 3606 East Jefferson <br /> Blvd . is in the process of purchasing the property. Ms. Hanson <br /> noted that there would not be any substantial changes to the <br /> outside facade of the building . <br /> Councilman Beck noted that she had received no complaints with <br /> regard to the proposed rezoning . <br /> Following further discussion by the Committee , Councilman Serge <br /> made a motion , seconded by Councilman Beck, that substitute Bill <br /> No. 4-87 be recommended favorably to Council . The motion passed <br /> unanimously. <br /> The Committee then reviewed substitute Bill No . 128-86 which <br /> would rezone the property located in the 1700 block of East <br /> Randolph Street . <br /> Councilman Beck who initiated the rezoning petition then <br /> explained the need for the rezoning . She passed out a revised <br /> map of the area in question. She noted that she worked closely <br /> with the Area Plan Commission to make sure that the concerns and <br /> the needs of the residential area were protected . She further • <br /> noted that the petition process began on December 2 , 1987 , and <br /> that there were no remonstrators at the Area Plan Commission <br /> meeting . The Area Plan Commission voted unanimously in favor of <br /> the proposed rezoning. <br /> Mr . Tim Hartzer , a local attorney, then presented information in <br /> opposition to the proposed rezoning . He noted that he had been <br /> hired by Baymar Plastics , Inc . which is a custom precision <br /> electronic company located at 1702 S. Robertson Street . The <br /> business is a light industrial user who purchased the property in <br /> question on December 22 , 1986. He noted that his client did <br /> FR[t FR6OI FURLISMIRO CO. <br />
