OtDmmuttn &part <br /> the Mown= Council of tlit tt of*E L AND _FINANCE C O MM I T T E E godly <br /> The March 23 , 1987 , meeting of the Personnel and Finance <br /> Committee was called to order by Councilman James Barcome in the <br /> absence of the Committee Chairman , Councilman Beck . The meeting <br /> was convened at 4 :50 p .m. in the Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilmen : Serge , Puzzello , <br /> Voorde, Barcome, Paszek and Braboy; members of the news media ; <br /> and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand . <br /> Councilman Barcome noted that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> discuss Bill No . 20-87 which would regulate City-owned vehicles . <br /> Councilman John Voorde then briefly explained the need for the <br /> ordinance. He noted that currently there is an ordinance in <br /> effect with regard to yearly reporting of City-owned vehicles in <br /> an automobile inventory listing. He noted that the dates in the <br /> current ordinance are typically not met by the City Administration <br /> and that the reporting deadlines were not consistent with the <br /> budgetary deadlines . <br /> Councilman Voorde noted that he had discussed his proposed bill <br /> with Mr . John Leszczynski , City Engineer , and that he was in <br /> favor of the proposed amendments . <br /> Councilman Beck then joined the meeting and noted that she was in <br /> favor of the bill and believed in its check and balance concept . <br /> Following further discussion by. the Committee , Councilman Barcome <br /> made a motion , seconded by Councilman Braboy , to recommend Bill <br /> No . 20-87 favorably to Council .
